A Community Staple Since 1916
Welcome to The Roadhouse Restaurant & Inn
Nestled in the heart of Fall City, The Roadhouse Restaurant & Inn stands as a beloved gathering place where history and hospitality meet. Originally established as the Riverside Tavern in 1920, this local landmark has evolved alongside the town itself — from a simple roadside stop for travelers to a vibrant community hub known for its welcoming atmosphere, delicious fare, and cozy accommodations.
Whether you’re joining us for a casual meal, a celebratory dinner, or an overnight stay, you’re not just stepping into a restaurant — you’re stepping into a piece of Fall City’s story.
A Timeline of The Roadhouse

The Riverside Tavern Opens
Paul Holden builds the single-story Riverside Tavern at the corner of River and Taylor Streets (now the site of The Roadhouse). During Prohibition, the tavern serves food, ice cream, and coffee, with adjoining campgrounds and Saturday night dances.

Riverside Tavern & Lodge
Mae Brown adds a second story with 12 guest rooms (primarily for schoolteachers) and renames the building the Riverside Tavern & Lodge. With the end of Prohibition, alcohol is served once again.

The Colonial Inn
Ed DeGrace acquires the property and transforms it into The Colonial Inn. He and his wife, Helen, create a lively supper club atmosphere with live music, locally sourced meals, and even hayrides.

A New Chapter Begins
Scott Krahling purchases the Colonial Inn, partnering with Charlie and Leslie Kellogg. Extensive renovations restore and modernize the building, retaining key historic elements while adding modern comforts. The business reopens in 2008 as the Fall City Roadhouse.

Twin Peaks and Community Connections
Rob and Debbie Rosemont purchase the business, deepening The Roadhouse’s ties to the Twin Peaks fandom by hosting annual festival events. They rebrand the building as The Roadhouse Restaurant & Inn.

A New Era with Familiar Faces
Longtime team members Cynthia Heyamoto and John Manning take ownership, bringing decades of hospitality experience and a deep love for the community. Under their leadership, The Roadhouse continues to honor its legacy while embracing new traditions.
A Home for Twin Peaks Fans
If you’re a fan of the cult classic TV series Twin Peaks, The Roadhouse Restaurant & Inn holds a special place in your heart. Our building’s exterior appeared in the original series, forever linking us to the eerie charm of David Lynch’s creation. We proudly host Twin Peaks-themed events and welcome visitors from around the world seeking to experience the show’s filming locations firsthand.
While you’re here, explore nearby landmarks featured in the series:
- Snoqualmie Falls (aka White Falls) — just a 6-minute drive from our doorstep.
- The Great Northern Hotel (Salish Lodge and Spa) — perched beside the falls.
- Reinig Bridge — the iconic bridge where Ronette walks in the pilot episode.
- Twede’s Café (Double R Diner) — home of that “damn fine cup of coffee.”
Of course, the best Twin Peaks landmark is right here: The Roadhouse itself!
